Born on August 3, 1930, in the District of Columbia, Buddy grew up in Arlington, Virginia. He was a dedicated glazer for General Glass for 49 years and helped build homes on Kent Island. Buddy had many roles in life, including husband, dad, brother, son, friend, Lions Club member, roller skater, builder, and Pop-Pop.
Buddy was a true craftsman who loved working with his hands. He was an expert in woodworking and enjoyed building birdhouses, decks, sheds, and yard decorations. He even had a talent for creating birdhouses that resembled the homes of his friends and family. Buddy was also an avid collector of small model cars and trains, and enjoyed watching John Wayne westerns, war movies, and listening to 50’s and country music.
In his free time, Buddy loved spending time on the water and fishing. He owned several boats in his lifetime and enjoyed being out on the water, regardless the size of the fish he caught. Most of all, Buddy cherished family gatherings, especially those that involved delicious food.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Gilchrist Center Hospice in Columbia for their compassionate care during Buddy’s final hours. They would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Donaldson Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
