Anthony “Bud” Joseph Marconi of Laurel, MD passed away on October 14, 2016 in Columbia, MD. He was 85. He was born on November 4, 1930 to the late Joseph and Othelia Marconi in Altoona, PA. He graduated from Altoona High School in 1948 and was a Merchant Marine from 1948-1951. He worked as a lithographer at Haynes Lithograph for 28 years and retired from ProLith in 1990. He was a member of St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, Laurel Senior Friendship Club, and GAIU Lithography Union. Bud was a loyal fan to the Redskins and was always there to help his family and friends with their home improvement projects. His greatest joy was spending time with his 2 daughters and 6 granddaughters.
Bud is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Theresa J. Marconi; loving daughters Deborah Bowley and her husband Edward; and Sharon Kowal and her husband Mark; his cherished granddaughters Erin Bowley-Tirakis (Mike), Jamie Carbone (Earl), Stacey Bowley, Lauren Kowal, Alexandra Kowal, and Mackenzie Kowal and great-grandchildren Haleigh Bowley-Canova, Gabriella Carbone, and Anthony Joseph Carbone; and his sister Joann York of Altoona, PA. He is also survived by his longtime friends, whom he thought of as family, Linda Smith, and Kathy and Rick Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary’s Place, Laurel, MD 20707. Burial will follow at the church.
