Carolyn Mary Burdette of Burtonsville passed on July 14, 2015. She was born on February 8, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to Margaret Dougherty Gulbransen and Thomas Gulbransen. She was the beloved wife of the late Earl M. Burdette, Sr. and the loving mother of Christine Burdette Folks (Charles W. Folks) of West Laurel and Earl M. Burdette, Jr.(the late Sandra Nicholson Burdette) of Port Charlotte, Florida. She is survived by her three grandchildren Jesse Folks, Jason Folks, and Annie Greene (Daniel Greene).
Carolyn was affectionately known to many family and friends (especially those of grandchildren) as "Nana." She and her husband helped found the Church of the Resurrection in Burtonsville and she was a very active member of the church. She baked many cakes and pies over the years for the church bazaar.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 on Monday July 20, 2015 in the Resurrection Catholic Church in Burtonsville. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven in Silver Spring.
